HR Assistant

In the UK, Wärtsilä houses dynamic business lines across 27 locations. The UK HR team strives to deliver first class support and is now seeking a HR Assistant to join a team of passionate HR professionals. The HR Assistant will pro-actively support the administartive activities across our HR team including employee lifecycle elements and wider compensation and benefits administration


This is a permanent opportunity and the successful candidate will be embedded within a passionate HR team which operates out of our office in Fareham, Hampshire.


What will you do?


  • Support the administration of employee lifecycle activities (including processing starters, leavers, references, absence) and ensure relevant paperwork is issued and administered accordingly.
  • Update and support the effective management of our HR systems ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Support the wider HR team with learning and development administration ensuring accurate records are maintained and delivery coordination effectively managed.
  • Conduct administrative actions surrounding our compensation and benefits activities.
  • Provide support on ad hoc HR projects as directed by the UK HR Manager.
  • Act as front-line support for enquiries and issues from end users relating to HR systems, including the setting up of new users, maintenance of the systems, manipulation and access of data and support with ongoing development as required.
  • Deliver additional ah-hoc administrative tasks including invoice processing, audit support and payroll updates as required.



What do we expect from you?


  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organised individual who can prioritise multiple tasks.
  • High attention detail.
  • An administrative background is desirable.
  • Exposure to HR systems such as SAP HR is desired but not essential as training will be provided.
  • HR systems reporting, and knowledge of HR processes is desired.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
