Business Development Manager

Product Management within Asset Management Services is a strategic function that operates through the network of stakeholders to maintain and improve the commercial performance of our products and services. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the business cases creation and manage the portfolio of business ideas having a specific focus on Propulsion systems. Identification of customer industry specific product value propositions is a key to ensure market success for the future offering portfolio and you will work with a large network of stakeholders and closely with Product Managers. Market research, analysing competitive products and assessing current offering performance are also some of your main tasks.

 

The preferred location for this position is Drunen, Netherlands, other locations may be considered. 

 

Responsibilities
In the role you will be responsible for:
- Market success of the of the product portfolio
- Managing the portfolio of ideas and related stakeholder communication
- Defining and assessing the product development needs with Product Managers
- Leading community discussion related to the ideas and performing business analysis 
- Creating business cases related to offering development 
- Preparing material and presenting early stage cases for decision making in relevant governance bodies
- Managing the development portfolio overview and related performance measurements
- Conducting and initiating relevant market analysis to deepen knowledge of market, customers and competition
- Promotion of innovation culture activities and participate in relevant innovation forums
- Development of offering development process to ensure value creation
- Participating in continuous improvement of product management processes and tools

 

Requirements
As an ideal candidate you would have:
- BSc, MSc or equivalent degree in economics or engineering
- Broad business perspective and minimum 3-5 years’ experience of propulsion related business
- Hydrodynamic engineering experience is seen as a benefit
- Excellent analytical skills and financial understanding
- Previous experience from process and business case development seen as a benefit
- Good presentation and networking skills 
- Goal orientation and persistence
- Capacity to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams
- Creative thinking and problem solving abilities
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Ability to travel
