Technical Services is a globally recognized technical knowledge center within the Services Business of Wärtsilä. The main task of Technical Services is to provide technical support for internal and external stakeholders during the lifecycle of products and solutions delivered or serviced by Wärtsilä.


Wärtsilä Technical Services is now looking for a (Senior) Technical Expert to the W32 engine team, to Vaasa, Finland.

Responsibilities:
W32 engine team in technical service provides technical support for Wärtsilä's internal and external customers, the team is covering a field base of more than 6000 engines and over 30GW of installed power. 

In this position you,
- Provide engine expert support for internal and external customers
- Make product improvements and product documentation
- Participate in the introduction of new engine types and other products
- Perform field testing of new products in the field
- Make feedback analyses and product reports
- Make site surveys and troubleshooting in the field
- Follow up and solving problems together with the W32 Product Owner
- You will work as innovative expert in the tip of the spear in the Wärtsilä’s expert organisation


Requirements
As an ideal candidate, you will have:
- A genuine passion for engines and a desire to make a difference 
- Motivation and genuine interest to work with 4-stroke engines
- BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Good command of English, both oral and written
- Proven experience of 4-stroke engines, related auxiliary equipment, trouble shooting and performance analyses in the field
- Proactive, systematic and organized way of working
- Good skills in communication, customer orientation and self-management
- Flexible, open to learn, adapt and develop to new technologies
- Readiness to travel 40-80 days/year
