Account Manager, Energy Services
We are looking for an Account Manager to join our dynamic, fast-paced Agreements sales team for Energy Business. This remote position will be based in the United States.
What will you be doing
As an Account Manager you will work together with cross-divisional teams to develop value propositions and customized solutions to fit our Energy customer's lifecycle needs. You will be the lead Contract Negotiator who will find balanced solutions to complex contracts as well as customer service minded and will go above and beyond to support our Energy customers.
The ideal candidate has 10 years of experience in Account Management and a strong knowledge base for power general O&M, parts and services.
As an Account Manager you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Accountable for sales to non-agreement customers and generating leads for new agreements and service projects. Focus on growing sales and committing non-agreement customers to agreements.
- Proactively engage with customers and internal stakeholders to grow sales for non-agreement customers
- Propose and sell new solutions and upgrades to customers and ensure that the value is understood, explained and products and services are sold and delivered.
- Proactively plan sales for assigned customers to maximise our share of wallet
- Proactively share market insights and customer knowledge internally to develop regional customer understanding
- Ensure a well-working feedback loop with Field Service colleagues to maximize the number of leads
- Ensure leads are addressed and captured
- Ensure all customer related information & opportunities are recorded in CRM and maintain accurate customer records among assigned customer accounts
- Develop account plans and sales strategy for assigned customers
- Act as Agreement Manager when converting non-agreement customers to agreement customers (when needed)
- Support newbuild Business Development Managers and Lifecycle Solutions in agreement and service project sales

- Deep knowledge of lifecycle support organizations and way of working, strong knowledge of Wärtsilä ‘s lifecycle solutions portfolio and coordination between stakeholders
- Inspirational change leader with the ability to engage and promote others to take action
- Strong influencing skills
- Drive results with excellent planning and execution skills
- Experience in Sales / Contract Management in a demanding leadership environment
- Experience working in a similar international fast paced multi-cultural working environment
- Ideally have relevant education, such as B.Sc. in Engineering / Economics / Business or equivalent experience
- Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals (50-70%) (Post COVID-19)
- Fluent in English, extra points for other languages
An ideal candidate:
- Knowledge of U.S. Energy markets (CAISO, SPP, ERCOT etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of NERC
- Knowledge about power plant operations and maintenance
- Knowledge about reciprocating engines in power plant applications
- Resourceful and understand market intelligence tools
- Structured, systematic and analytical minded, attention to details and awareness of how they fit into the bigger business picture
- Exercises active listening, builds trust in networks and relationships and gives feedback continuously in a constructive manner.
