Field Service Superintendent, 4- Stroke Marine Business

We are looking for a Field Service Superintendent to join our dynamic, fast-paced Field Service team in our AMER service region. This position may be based remotely within the US.

What will you be doing

As a Field Service Superintendent, you will perform field service activities and commissioning on 4-Stroke engines and ancillary equipment.

The ideal candidate has technical experience in Marine engineering and installation.

As a Field Service Superintendent, you will focus on these responsibilities:

• Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan
• Perform advanced mechanical as well as electronic & automation and system integration related troubleshooting on 4-stroke engines and ancillary equipment
• Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers responsibility
• Commissioning of service products
• On-site team leading and managing of the assigned team and related activities during the work execution
• Interact with customers during the work execution
• Interacting with FS back office and TS during work execution
• Perform internal and external progress status up-dates of the assigned work
• Create the Service Work Reports
• Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wartsila solutions and products to customer
• Continuous development of the technical skills and competences with processing technology jointly with the team leader and HR

• Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience
• Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills
• Proven experience in installation operation, maintenance and repair
• Highly-effective technical communication skills, both written and verbal
• Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution
• Experience on medium speed 4-stroke engines
• Experience in working with electrical systems beneficial
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial

Travel Requirements:

This position requires a 70% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international, including onshore and offshore locations. The role demands adaptability to varying travel demands, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.

For applicants that reside in CA/CO/WA, the hourly wage range is $35.00-$46.00

For applicants that reside in NY, the hourly wage range is $33.00 -$61.25

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.  Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
