In-Situ Machinist

As an In-Situ Machinist your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assist In-Situ Specialist and or Machinist with In-Situ Machining tool setups and changes.
  • Assist In-Situ Specialist and or Machinist prepare, assemble, test, clean, pack and unpack.
  • Assembles, repairs, and fabricates metal parts by operating any mechanical workshop equipment, like lathe, milling, boring, drilling machine.
  • Assembles parts into sub-units and or complete units.
  • Uses blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product in Metric and Imperial standards.
  • Evaluation of engine/machine components according to original Manufacturer specifications and/or Quantiserv-ISO standards.
  • Maintaining of all Quantiserv machine shop machinery and In-Situ tooling after use.
  • Completion of measurement sheets according to ISO standards.
  • Operate all types of measuring tools: micrometers Dial gauges in Metric.
  • Preparation of tools, consumables, and materials.
  • Preparation of jobs, including field/shop for service execution on direction of Specialist or Machinist and or Management.
  • Execute machining works under guidance of an In-Situ Specialist or Machinist onboard vessels, power stations and diverse industries worldwide.
  • Maintain workspace clean and organized.
  • Assist in workflow and improvement of same.
  • Undergo appropriate training to gain competencies with heavy lifting equipment; Forklift, overhead gantry cranes, component turning equipment.
  • Follow specific courses defined by Quantiserv to attend specific work locations, like oil rigs and oil drilling vessels if necessary (OSHA, Helicopter survival, oil rig safety)
  • Ensure that all activities in the workshop and on-site are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Company's Health and Safety standard ISO 4500112018.

 

In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties within their capabilities which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

 

  • Experience with assembly, repair, and fabrication of custom metal parts by operating any mechanical workshop equipment, like lathe, milling, boring, drilling machine.
  • Good communication skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good time management and organizational skills - able to effectively manage a dynamic workload.
  • Able work effectively and efficiently independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
