Marine 4-Stroke Automation Superintendent (DF/LNG)

What will you be doing

As a Marine 4-Stroke Automation Superintendent, you will be for performing field service activities according to the work plan specifically in relation to LNG/ DF 4-stroke driven installations with Wärtsilä equipment.

The ideal candidate has Work experience with UNIC C3 and WECS gas engine installation and troubleshooting and a genuine passion for marine technologies and automation.

 

As a Marine 4-Stroke Automation Superintendent, you will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing complex and advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment and equipment families in relation to Wärtsilä systems;
  • Acts as superintendent engineer for complex marine LNG-driven installations and as a system commissioning engineer to lead-related commissioning activities as required.
  • Responsible for performing complex and advanced Tuning adjustments on Wartsila's advanced portfolio of DF engines.
  • Ensures that work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer-site procedures;
  • Proactively advises and promotes available products and solutions to customers.
  • Responsible for building and supporting internal and external stakeholders in regards to specific LNG equipment like LNGPac, Dual Fuel technology, IAS-related system, WECS, UNIC, etc.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Preferred MSc or BSc in Electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or marine engineering
  • A genuine passion for engines and automation and a desire to make a difference • Systematic way of working and good analytical and organizing skills
  • Understanding the importance of quality
  • Technical problem-solving skills
  • Good ability to cooperate and communicate with other people & Good command of English, both oral and written
  • Willingness to travel
  • Wärtsilä IAS experience of installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with various PLCs (Siemens, Schneider, etc) and SCADA-based systems.
  • The competence areas are alternatively for Electro/ Mechanical Systems (W32,34SG,34DF,20DF, 46, 50SG, 50DF), Electrical systems (MV, LV and DC systems) or various Automation Systems (WECS3000, WECS8000, UNIC)
  • Experience in Wecsplorer, WCT, and UNITool software tools
  • Work experience with UNIC C3 and WECS gas engine installation and troubleshooting.
  • 75% travel time required.
