What will you be doing?
As a Marine Electrical & Automation Superintendent, you will perform field service activities according to the work plan.This includes Engine Control Systems, Power Management Systems (PMS), Connectivity devices (HMI, Firewalls, and Servers), and general Vessel Automation. You will also focus on advanced troubleshooting, tuning, and commissioning activities for Wärtsilä's advanced portfolio of DF engines and automation control systems.
This position reports to the Team Leader Resources E&A.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex and advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment and equipment families concerning Wärtsilä systems.
- Act as a superintendent engineer for complex marine installations and as a system commissioning engineer to lead related commissioning activities as required.
- Perform complex and advanced tuning adjustments on Wärtsilä's advanced portfolio of DF engines and automation control systems.
- Ensure that work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QEHS) guidelines and customer-site procedures.
- Proactively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers.
- Build and support internal and external stakeholders concerning specific Wärtsilä equipment, such as LNGPac, Dual Fuel technology, IAS-related systems, UNIC, and more.
- Interact professionally with customers during work execution.
- Provide internal and external progress updates on assigned work.
- Create detailed Service Work Reports.
- Follow up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
- Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

- Preferred MSc or BSc in Electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or Marine Engineering.

- Good ability to cooperate and communicate with others.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
- Experience with various PLCs (Siemens, Schneider, etc.) and SCADA-based systems.

Location: USA
Travel Requirements:
This position requires a 70% travel commitment, encompassing both domestic and international locations, including onshore and offshore sites. The role demands adaptability to varying travel requirements, with an expectation of extended periods away from the primary work location. Prospective candidates should be prepared to fulfill these travel obligations as an integral aspect of the position's responsibilities.
