About NACOS Marine:
NACOS Marine is embarking on an exciting journey as we establish ourselves as a standalone organization following a divestiture. As a subsidiary of Wärtsilä, NACOS Marine has approximately 750 employees globally, including 50 in the USA.
Location: This role will be based in the Fort Lauderdale area and follows a hybrid model with two days per week at the office.
About the role:
As the People & HSES Coordinator, you will play a dual role, combining your expertise in Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) management with people coordination responsibilities. This unique position is key to supporting both our operational excellence and employee experience. You will be the local partner for our external Professional Employer Organisation (PEO) and internal teams, ensuring smooth HR processes and a compliant, safe, and future-oriented working environment.
You will work closely with local teams, leadership, and global HSES and HR functions to implement and maintain high standards aligned with international practices and our sustainability-focused mission.
Key Responsibilities
People Coordination Responsibilities

Act as the main local interface and partner with our external Professional Employer Organisation (PEO) for all HR-related matters.

Provide daily HR support to local employees, ensuring consistent application of HR policies and processes.

Support recruitment efforts for local roles, including coordination of hiring processes and onboarding.

Facilitate employee engagement, communication, and wellbeing initiatives in collaboration with global HR.
HSES Responsibilities

Implement and maintain HSES management systems, processes, tools, and competencies in alignment with corporate guidelines, international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and regulatory/customer requirements, with the support of headquarter.

Coordinate the incident follow up together with our legal entities.

Ensure compliance with all applicable HSES legislation for our North American legal entities.

Execute and monitor the HSES Strategy and drive continuous improvement.

Support with HSES internal audits and coordinate external certification audit programs in North America.

Collect, report, and govern HSES performance metrics & statistics for assigned areas.

Deliver HSES training programs across the local organization.

Promote and drive initiatives for a safe and healthy working environment across the full lifecycle of our solutions.

Support the development and integration of HSES digital tools and systems.
Qualifications
-
Understanding of local employment regulations and HR best practices.
-
Experience with external PEOs or similar HR service providers is an advantage.

Ideally work experience in HSES management and HR/people coordination in a global environment.

Knowledge of HSE management systems and standards (OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).

Internal auditor certification (ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001) preferred.

Experience with HSES tools and systems.

Industry experience in maritime or related sectors is highly desirable.
