People Services is the face of HR, working to support our employees, delivering services and expertise globally across all HR processes in order to bring a world-class employee experience to life for Wärtsilä. The Regional HR Specialist utilize SAP SuccessFactors and/or UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group/UltiPro) systems to ensure employee data accuracy and integrity and assist in payroll reporting. The HR Specialist will work alongside our People Support Hub for North America, to deliver a great employee experience. Together with your colleagues, you will also have opportunities to develop and improve our Global HR processes by being a part of ongoing global project groups.
 
This position offers a flexible hybrid working module (2-days in office) and you will report to the Head of People Services, North America.  The ideal candidate will be located in one of our key locations within Houston, TX, Ft Lauderdale, FL or Puerto Rico. 
 
 
Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of SAP SuccessFactors and UKG systems, including employee data changes, organization reporting relationships and transfers.
  • First-level support for our employees and managers with their queries related to SAP SF and UKG, support to employees and managers using the self-service processes, as well as resolution and support to direct employees and managers to sources of information.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the systems and conduct regular data quality audits and clean-up activities.
  • Assist payroll in conducting data validation checks to ensure accuracy and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Create and maintain HR and payroll reports using SAP SuccessFactors and UKG reporting tools. Develop ad-hoc reports as requested by HR and senior management.
  • Together with the team, contribute to the continuous development of the Region and Global ways of working, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for automation & digitalization.
  • Regular collaboration with the different HR Teams, e.g. Talent Acquisition Services, Rewarding, HR Information Systems, among others, and with local HR Teams within your Region.

The below will enable you to be successful in this role:

  • Relevant college education in Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Human Resources or equivalent.
  • 3 years of HR experience.
  • 2 years of experience in SAP SuccessFactors and UKG.
  • Previous experience with a global company is preferred.
  • A systematic and organized way of working, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with cultural sensitivity, able to work effectively within a team and deliver services across different cultures.
  • Natural ability to collaborate successfully with others, seeking opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with the ability to maintain data accuracy and privacy.
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal

Successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship. Salary range is $75,000 - $85,000, depending on experience and education. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.  Eligibility to participate in: the discretionary incentive plan assigned to the level of position upon offer of employment; medical, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts, subject to plan terms; Company-paid benefits such as life insurance, short- and long-term disability, subject to applicable waiting periods.  Paid time off (PTO) is accrued on a per-pay period basis in accordance with tenure in the Company; a new hire can expect 17 days per year. Twelve (12) Company-paid holidays.
