We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our 4-Stroke Field Service team for US Energy business. The desired location for this position Fort Lauderdale FL, but is opened to all candidates within a 2-hour drive of a major airport in the continental USA.

 

What will you be doing
 

As a Service Engineer you will perform mechanical and E&A troubleshooting and repairs for 4-Stroke engines and related equipment.

 

To be our ideal candidate you will have a Bachelor’s degree, three years of related experience and knowledge of Wartsila products.

 

As a Service Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced mechanical and electronic & automation system integration-related troubleshooting on 4-Stroke engines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers responsibility.
  • Interact with customers during the work execution.
  • Perform internal and external progress status reports of the assigned work.
  • Leading and manage assigned team and related activities during the work execution when applicable
  • Commissioning of service products.
  • Interacting with Field Service back office and Technical Service during work execution.
  • Create Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila quality, health and environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Comply with the management system accordingly to what has been implemented locally for her/his position.
  • Be proactively in consulting, advising, and promoting available Wartsila solutions and products to customer.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions,
  • values and company policies applicable as employee and to the position.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • 3+ years of Mechanical maintenance expertise in Wartsila 4-Stroke engines
  • Troubleshooting Skills for 4-Stroke engines (Wartsila Engines preferred)
  • Mechanical technical experience on Wartsila Power Plants or similar application
  • Ability to communicate in English required, Spanish is an asset.
  • Skilled with MS Office tools
  • Knowledge of Wärtsilä products & processes
  • Communication skills & customer relations
  • BS degree + 3 years of related experience, or Technical / Vocational school (preferably Mechanical) + 5 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of auxiliary equipment
  • Willing and able to travel (up to 75% of the time) for field service work
