SERVICE MANAGER, AUTOMATION & DYNAMIC POSITIONING

 

We are looking for a Service Manager for Automation & Dynamic Positioning to join our dynamic, fast-paced team. This position is to be located in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami, Florida, USA area.

 

What will you be doing

 

As a Service Manager, you will lead a team of field service engineers and coordinators working with complex equipment and projects for our Voyage customers.

 

The ideal candidate has Bachelor's degree in Engineering and five years related experience within the Maritime or Energy Sectors.

 

As a Service Manager, you will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a team of field service engineers & coordinators
  • Be a key contact person for our customers during the Service & Project Execution
  • Suggest improvements to the Field Service processes
  • Cooperate with others to ensure the right resources are assigned for every job
  • Take responsibility for briefing and debriefing of the engineers before and after the jobs
  • Ensure that engineers execute the work according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures
  • Follow up orderbook and make sure of timely invoicing.
  • Work closely together with the Sales team to develop opportunities.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and five years related experience, or Associate’s degree and eight years related experience.
  • Previous experience as:

            Project Manager, Field Service Coordinator, Superintendent or Site Manager for complex equipment and field service within the Maritime or Energy sectors -or - Technical Manager from the Maritime sector

  • Knowledge of Ship Automation
  • Fluency in English
  • Project Management Skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Projects, Excel and Word)
  • Previous knowledge of Field Service processes such as Commissioning, Warranty, Sales, Training, and Customer follow up
  • Communication and listening skills, ability to deal with people of different cultures
  • Strong ability to delegate, follow directions and work under pressure
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive, motivating environment
  • Understanding of fundamental financial aspects such as cost, margin, revenue, & rework
  • Ability to verify sales estimates for proper job scopes, working hours, and costs
  • Strong customer relations skills
  • Being able to help your team to grow professionally
  • Willingness to travel to our customer sites and other offices in the USA or overseas.
