Wärtsilä Land & Sea Academy (WLSA) is now looking for an enthusiastic Training Coordinator to join our skilled team in Ft Lauderdale, FL. In accordance with our hybrid work model, you will be able to work partially remotely.

What will you be doing?
This position is based at our Training Centre in Fort Lauderdale, FL and reports to the Manager, Training Coordination.
As a Training Coordinator in WLSA, you will have the chance to work closely with customers, from the initial offering to the closing of the delivery process. As a representative of the coordination team in Ft. Lauderdale, you will have the opportunity to influence and shape the local activities of WLSA.
Additionally, you will have the chance to promote our training offerings to customers, gaining valuable experience in training sales and marketing.
Your responsibilities will include managing the training process, which can be quite complex and involve multiple tools. Attention to detail and a structured approach to work will be essential in ensuring the smooth execution of training sessions.
You will have the satisfaction of seeing the training take place and reviewing customer feedback. You will also actively contribute to the development of your own work, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating WLSA training delivery operations in the Training Centre, including notification handling, order process to internal and external customers, SAP updating, report handling, course time scheduling to internal and external customers, training resource allocation.
- Create course and service offerings for external and internal customers.
- Contribute to portfolio management by submitting change proposals.
- Promote WLSA on internal and external communication channels.
- Actively promote WLSA offering to account managers, contract managers, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Participation in review of pricing instructions.
- Coordinate WLSA training delivery operations in the Training Centre.
- Handle notification, order process, SAP updating, report handling, and course scheduling.
- Manage course resource scheduling tool and learning management tool administration.
- Support business-related training requests in WLSA.
Main Requirements:
- Experience with training administration (class offerings, registrations, reporting) with professional and technical manufacturing certification areas is a plus.
- Experience working with a variety of internal customers ranging from managers to employees to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Ability to manage in a responsive and timely manner the pressures, challenges, and changes requested from our managers, training coordinators, instructors, and students.
- Ability to quickly learn and increase proficiency with technology tools (Word, Excel, Teams, SAP) and systems to advance use of technology for training administration.
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of the training environment & administration of training classes as it relates class offerings, student enrolments, and related logistics.
As an ideal candidate, we expect you to have:
- A suitable degree such as B.Sc. and/or M.Sc., or relevant work experience.
- Experience of working in SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, and Learning Management Systems will be considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in commonly used MS software and a positive attitude towards learning and utilizing new tools.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
- Service-oriented mindset and a drive for customer satisfaction.
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and resourceful approach to problem-solving, along with eagerness to tackle occasional complex and challenging assignments outside of daily routine tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely and accurate information.
- Attention to detail and a structured approach to work.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient English language skills, both verbal and written. (Spanish language skills will be considered an advantage).

Effective January 2025, Wärtsilä companies in the USA will implement a new hybrid work model. Most employees who live within 40 miles of an office will work 2 days per week in office. This model will provide our employees the flexibility of working from home, while also providing the benefits of in-person collaboration twice a week.
