Development Engineer

Development Engineer 

 

We are looking for a Development Engineer with a main responsibility in developing strategic technologies and customers tailor made products in the 2-stroke Engineering Services Department.

 

The preferred location for this position is in Frauenfeld (Switzerland).

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

 As Development Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Support engineering and product management in developing strategic and customer projects with simulations.
  • Build simulation models describing the behaviour of relevant products, with reference to hydraulics and fuel injection. Provide suggestions on possible improvements to design engineers. Calibrate models upon delivery of test results.
  • Possible attendance to tests on-site and onboard customer's vessels during the execution of projects.
  • Provide engineering support for the design of experimental test rigs and components for commercial applications.

 

 

Requirements for the position 

 

  • MSc, Dipl.-Ing. Mechanical engineer.
  • 2+ Years proven experience as a development engineer in similar industry.
  • Proven knowledge of thermodynamics, hydraulics and fuel injection technology applied to internal combustion engines.
  • Knowledge of 1D simulation tools (e.g.: AMESim, GT-Suite).
  • Good knowledge of Matlab (or similar software) targeted to the post processing of gathered data.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing technologies of hydraulic components.
  • Willingness to travel around 10% of the working time.
  • Good knowledge of English.
