Maintenance Management Engineer 2-Stroke Engines

We are looking for a Maintenance Management Engineer - 2-Stroke Engines, with the main responsibilities in creating and managing maintenance plans for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and overhauls, preparing and monitoring the maintenance budget, selecting the appropriate Wärtsilä network for maintenance execution, and controlling the scope, cost, and quality of maintenance jobs.

 

The preferred location for this position are in Frauenfeld, Switzerland or Trieste Italy.

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Maintenance Management Engineer for 2-Stroke Engines, you will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Create, update and share with the involved people the Annual maintenance plan for each contract in the assigned area.
  • Update technical upgrades and changes in job plans that concern: spare parts, manpower, time, frequency and maintenance schedules on the maintenance management system.
  • Keep the asset meters, fluid management information and all maintenance information updated in maintenance system according to the established frequency.
  • Provide feedback toward contract manager when information for maintenance system is not received from customer side.
  • Plan the resources and competences for execution of work orders if contracted.
  • Communication with Contract Managers and customers, external providers, maintenance coordinators and logistic coordinators.
  • Plan the maintenance for the assigned customer / contract; Identify and keep involved stakeholders for each project informed.
  • Prepare maintenance budget input for the annual contract budgeting.
  • Ensure that technical insights during the contract lifetime are implemented and communicated to contract manager and customer.
  • Pro-actively look for performance improvement which leads to more efficient maintenance.
  • Provide maintenance overview reporting with the interval according to the contract
  • Evaluate the most suitable Wärtsilä network company to execute the upcoming maintenance job and discuss and agree with the network job scope and required labour and skills as well as special contractual requirements.

 

Requirements for the position

 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of 2-stroke engine functionality.
  • Experience in maintenance management, particularly with 2-stroke engines.
  • Maritime experience is an advantage.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good self-organization of activities (internal and external).
  • Structured and planned way of working.
  • Focused and can-do attitude.
  • Good cooperation, teamwork, and communication skills.
