We are now looking for an open-minded and team-oriented Operations Expert specializing in
2-Stroke engines to join our team. This role involves working onshore, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality operational support and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The location for this position is in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, with the option to work in a hybrid model, combining on-site and remote work.
Your role and responsibilities
As an Operation Expert you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Provide remote operational support, troubleshoot, and tune equipment to resolve technical and operating issues for customer assets. Report, guide, and propose maintenance actions and advice to achieve delivery quality and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Analyze technical and operational problems, offering conclusions and recommendations. Report and escalate work progress to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Report and propose improvement needs of products/services and solutions for relevant internal stakeholders, including non-portfolio products.
- Analyze and troubleshoot asset performance issues and customer feedback data to guide and improve maintenance and operation of the installation as well as services delivered. Rely on real data and trends to inform decision-making and operational strategies.
- Visit sites and customers when deeper product, system, and performance analysis are needed.
- Participate in customer meetings as an expert when complex operational problems are handled, offering guidance and mentorship to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored solutions that add value.
- Provide input for after-sales information, such as service bulletin creation, product services, and maintenance manual updates.
- Provide specific technical support to sales when needed during the sales process.
- Identify and resolve operational challenges and improvement opportunities, optimizing operations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to work processes and systems.
What do we expect from you?
- Experience with marine and/or power plant installations, engines, auxiliary systems, and processes.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to easily interpret data.
- Ability to see the big picture and understand complex systems.
- Strong communication skills, customer orientation, and self-management abilities.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- Availability to travel up to 20% of the time.
As an ideal candidate you might also have…
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with 2-stroke engines is highly valued.
- Experience in using equipment monitoring tools and HMIs is of advantage.
- Knowledge in engine and/or system performance and related analytics is seen as a merit.
- Proactive, systematic, and organized way of working.
- Open to learning, adapting, and developing new technologies.
