Software System Architect

We are looking for a Software Systems Architect to join our Technology and Engineering Team in Wärtsilä Switzerland located in Frauenfeld, Switzerland.

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As Software Systems Architect your role will focus on, but is not limited to these responsibilities:

 

  • Support customer agreements providing necessary information to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain relationships with cooperation partners.
  • Perform product improvements for non-portfolio products.
  • Visit sites when deeper product, system and/or performance analysis is needed.
  • Review of findings within the expert's poll.
  • Prepare instructions and / or carry out necessary measurements and analysis on engines in operation as well as on shop test or sea trial.
  • Implemented different sensor integrations, designed control systems, and worked on product development using NI LabVIEW and NI hardware.
  • Model based design for Marine Diesel and Gas Engine Control Applications.
  • Requirement elicitation from customer concept documents, drawings, etc.
  • Worked on model-based development of fuel injection applications and testing.
  • Functionality development for LNG Injection with multiple concepts of Gasification.

 

The below will enable you to shine in your role:

 

  • BSc or higher degree in Electrical or Marine Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in Model-in-Loop (MIL) simulation and Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation (please expressly mention your knowledge level of these tools in your application).
  • Proficiency in creating Unitool packages.
  • Strong knowledge of Simulink, LabVIEW and MATLAB (specify your knowledge level in your application).
  • Excellent technical communication skills (e.g. writing reports).
  • Strong self-organization abilities for managing both internal and external activities.
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad for short periods (please specify it in your cv).
  • At least 5 years of proven experience working in a similar role and environment.
  • Proficient English knowledge.
