We are looking for a Superintendent / Technical Expert to join our dedicated team of experts providing operation support and high-level consultancy to owner and operator of 2-stroke engines.

 

The preferred location for this position is in Frauenfeld (Switzerland), but also other locations within Europe are possible, considering the availability to frequently travel to Frauenfeld to meet the team.

 

In this position, when you are not working in the field, hybrid work is an option too.

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Superintendent / Technical Expert, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Providing technical and operations support to operator and owner of 2-stroke marine installations.
  • Providing technical consultancy to customer and internal stakeholder.
  • Providing technical solutions.
  • Analysis and evaluation of engine performance / condition data.
  • Providing of technical project management (back-office as well as in-situ) for large repair and conversion projects.
  • Handling of technical communication towards project related stakeholder, e.g. class societies, insurance companies, customer representatives.
  • On site 2nd level troubleshooting, commissioning & and on side supervision.
  • Preparation and holding of presentations and training courses.
  • Exploring of sales opportunities and up-selling potentials thorough the technical inquiries and solutions.
  • Briefing and debriefing of Service engineers prior /- after service attendance.

 

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Ship Operation Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in service or operation within the 2-stroke marine diesel and/or gas engines.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Structured, analytic, and self-dependent working attitude.
  • Good time management and organisation skills - able to effectively manage the workload by periodisation and coordination.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

  • Basic knowledge in sales and technical negotiation.
  • Self-motivated and reliable to take responsibility of your actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work in an international and multicultural environment.

 

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel up to approximately 40%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
