In-Situ Project Leader

We are now looking for a passionate and people-oriented In-Situ Project Leader. The role is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in Gothenburg, Sweden. You will be able to work partially remotely in accordance with our hybrid work model. The role also includes occasional travel within the Nordics.


What will you be doing? 

 

As an In-Situ Project Leader you will be responsible for leading the team and delivering in-situ machining repairs and be integral part ensuring on-time delivery. The role combines technical support, coordination and sales assistance, all while demonstrating strong leadership abilities.

  

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:  

 

  • Working within the delivery team to deliver in-situ machining solutions to our internal and external customers, ensuring that effective customer relationships are maintained and developed so that we become the business partner of choice and provide scope for further sales opportunities.
  • Executing contracts according to the agreed terms and conditions.
  • Leading and managing the project lifecycle ensuring that all internal and external parties are effectively communicated with.
  • Monitoring project costs and initiating any appropriate corrective actions to ensure effective project delivery. You identify potential risks to the business and make sure KPIs are developing to the right direction.
  • Representing the business and business line in project meetings with customers and external stakeholders.
  • Closely cooperating with other departments and stakeholders to meet defined targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislations and company processes and procedures. You make sure that all work is executed in adherence to local requirements, site procedures, and Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
  • Providing input for development of HSE processes, tools, competencies and ways of working to secure stakeholder satisfaction and defined targets.
  • Continuously improving the way of working to enable effective project delivery.


The below will enable you to succeed in this role: 

 

  • Strong background in technical Project Management and within marine business as knowledge of the marine industry is highly desirable.
  • Machine-shop knowledge and basic understanding of various machining methods (lathe/mill/grind).
  • Basic logistics knowledge is preferable but not a pre-requisite. 
  • Strong IT skills and interest in working with different systems in addition to adaptability and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to influence and interact with main stakeholders in the business.
  • Proactive and structured approach to work with strong drive and self-direction as well as high level of attention to details.
  • Team-player mindset, promoting collaboration and building strong stakeholder relationships. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient English and Swedish language skills, both written and spoken.
  • Commitment to providing the best possible service experience for our customers.
