Project Engineer

Due to a large number of Scandinavian projects we are please to be looking for an additional project engineer ideally based in Sweden.

This role is within the European Project Management group’s engineering team.

The group is responsible for the deployment of our range of simulators and Vessel Traffic control systems.

The Engineer will have a background in IT and maritime equipment systems installation and support using standard network components in a Microsoft windows environment. The role has responsibility for the configuration and installation of these systems and interfacing to 3rd party equipment and controls (Radar, VHF, AIS, navigational systems…). During the installation phase you may be required to manage other engineering resources and sub-contractors.

As a Project Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Performing allocated works: Installation, participation in FAT/SAT, local coordination of works with customer's representatives and other suppliers.
  • Project technical specification, system design drawings and scope of supply preparation and review
  • Identification and evaluation of technical solutions, preferred models and vendors for 3d party equipment which is to be used within the scope of supply
  • Performing customer support by email, phone and on-site, participation in customer visits.
  • Performing quality control of completed job
     

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
 

  • Relevant BS degree and/or applicable IT/Electrical/ Maritime Electronics certification
  • Fluent English spoken and written incl. technical English
  • Good knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems, PC components and IP networking, 
  • Physical ability to cope with allocated work and travelling.
  • Troubleshooting, technical skills and solution envision, personal and subordinates job planning capabilities
  • A maritime background and/or knowledge of marine
