We are looking for a safety & quality open-minded, dynamic, flexible and detail oriented high performer to join our fast paced and exciting Service Team as a Junior Service Engineer Mechanical.
You will be part of a team of Field Services professionals who are able either to work independently or under supervision for installation of Wärtsilä service products for marine 2-stroke diesel engines. You will be working in a structured manner according to the guidelines installing the mechanical, electric and electronic equipment for newly developed service products on engines in service directly.
The country of location for the team of professionals is Poland.
Your main responsibilities:
- Conduct installation of Wärtsilä Service Products for 2-stroke diesel engines on board vessels.
- Perform Field Service activities related to Service Products installation according to the schedule and working plan.
- Perform mechanical and/or electronic & automation related installation for Service Products on site.
- Perform technical assessment of the installation, Perform pre- and final commissioning of the installed product according to the guidelines
- On site cooperation with the team-mates, managing the activities during the work execution.
- Interact with customer and stakeholders - Interact with Field Service and Technical Service back offices.
- Submit internal and external reports for work progress status, up-dates and final reporting for the assigned work.
- Prepare final Service Work Report and travel related expense reports on time ensuring expected Wartsila’s quality.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- BSc degree in Engineering and/or proven experience (2 years minimum) in a field for service works with installation of mechanical, electric and auxiliary equipment. Experience with work on Wärtsilä’s products will be beneficial
- Readiness to learn and to understand the principles of operation for installed products
- Good understanding of technical instructions, drawings, schematic diagrams (e.g. pneumatic, electric systems).
- Awareness and readiness to take up the tasks for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting for installed products
- Readiness to travel and work abroad (foreseen max travelling time up to 200 days/year)
- Good English skills (communicative level) - spoken and in written (this is a must)
- Good reporting skills (in written and verbal) e.g. for reports issued on daily basis and for submitting final reports
- Capability to interact in cultural manner with the team members, supervisors and with customer’s representatives as well as with internal or external stakeholders
- Good skills in MS Office and (preferably with) Wärtsilä FS reporting tools and apps
