We are looking for an Machining Service Engineer (F/M) with a main responsibility in delivering in-situ machining and mechanical services on marine and energy assets, ensuring high-quality field service support for our customers worldwide.
The preferred location for this position is in Gdansk (Poland), but other locations in Poland may be negotiable.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Machining Service Engineer, your work will include carrying out in-situ machining activities on engine components, operating portable machine tools, supporting inspections, and ensuring high-quality service delivery for our customers. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. Some experience and/or knowledge on 4-stroke engines is highly beneficial for this role.
You'll be working as part of our skilled Field Service team with diverse expertise in marine engines, machining technologies, and maintenance services.
As a Machining Service Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:
- Perform machining of engine components using portable and workshop-based machine tools.
- Operate and maintain lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
- Support field service teams with inspections and repair activities on 4-stroke engines.
- Ensure work quality, proper documentation, and compliance with Wärtsilä procedures.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working independently at customer sites.
Requirements for the position
- Technical education in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong machining experience, including operation of lathes, milling machines, and portable machine tools.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work independently with customers and vessel crews during onsite assignments.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 80% of the working days).

- Experience working with Wärtsilä or other 4-stroke marine engines is highly appreciated.
- Previous field service experience in the marine or power generation industry.
- Knowledge of engine component machining and repair methods.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.

- Openness to learning and developing new technical competencies.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
