We are now looking for an enthusiastic Senior Service Engineer E&A to strengthen our Field Service team. The role is offered as a permanent contract and will be based in Gdansk, Poland.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a Senior Service Engineer E&A, your tasks will revolve around executing field service activities on Wärtsilä installations, including LNG installations. Your main focus will be 4-stroke engine automation and control systems, along with other Wärtsilä products. In this role, travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you have willingness and flexibility to travel approximately 80 % of your working time.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Carrying out electrical and automation related field service activities on Wärtsilä installations, both on- and offshore.
  • Performing maintenance, repairs, and commissioning activities on mainly 4-stroke engine automation and control systems, along with other Wärtsilä products.
  • Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting, attending trial runs, and testing of installations according to instructions and expected performance requirements.
  • Ensuring that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with job performance and positive interactions with customers.
  • Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wärtsilä solutions and products to customers.

 

 

 To be successful in this role, we expect you have: 

 

  • B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or similar relevant educational background.
  • Significant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of and experience with 4-stroke engines and control systems.
  • Good command of English and Polish, verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to travel world-wide.
  • Readiness to take on service jobs on short notice, and occasionally work overtime if necessary. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.  
  • Organizational and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Driving license / B.

 

 

You will be at an advantage if you have experience with:

 

  • Speed governors.
  • Engine auxiliary systems.
  • Power generators.
  • Distribution switchboards.
  • PLC automation systems.
  • Propulsion control systems.
  • Energy battery storage.
  • Variable frequency drives.
  • LNG installations.
