Business Unit Parts and Field Service in Marine Power is looking to welcome an enthusiastic Senior Service Engineer to join our team. The role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based in Gdansk, Poland.

 

As a Senior Service Engineer, your responsibilities for the role include:

 

  • Performing mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting on Wärtsilä products or similar medium bore diesel engines.
  • Engine component overhauls in workshop and on site, including some in situ machining.
  • Checking and adjusting relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment).
  • Pre-commissioning and mechanical commissioning of engines
  • Identifying failures, making adjustments, assisting on trial runs, and testing of mechanical installations according to instructions.
  • Providing internal and external work reports in accordance with Wärtsilä standards.
  • Performing site audits.
  • Collecting and organizing time and expense reports, informing administrative personnel as required.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you have:

 

  • B. Sc. / High School Diploma /Technical School / Vocational School (preferably Marine, Mechanical) 
  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineer on Wärtsilä diesel engines or similar.
  • Information management skills, including MS Office Tools.
  • Strong knowledge of auxiliary equipment.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills are considered an advantage.
  • Good command of English and Polish, both written and verbal.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to perform under pressure.
  • Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
  • Willingness to travel at least 7-8 months per year.
  • Experience of generating technical reports.
