Senior Service Mechanic

We are looking for a Senior Service Mechanic with a main responsibility in identifing failures and faults, make adjustments during maintenance or repair of engines, provide technical support to customers, and work according to regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and work instructions, including the management system and environmental quality.

 

The preferred location for this position is in Gdansk, Poland
  
 
Your role and responsibilities  


As a Senior Service Mechanic you will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan on modern marine diesel engines.
  • Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines. 
  • Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Follow up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.
  • Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wartsila solutions and products to customers.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values, and company policies applicable as an employee and to the position.

 

Requirements for the position

 

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
  • Previous experience as Mechanical engineer on Wartsila Diesel Engine or similar Medium bores applications.
     

As an ideal candidate you might also have…

 

  • Information Management skills, including MS Office Tools.
  • Strong knowledge of auxiliary’s equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with people from different culture.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Motivation to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to travel approximately 7-8 months per year
  • Ability to generate technical reports.
  • Good command of English in speaking and writing.
  • Fluent Polish.
