We are looking for a Specialist, Material Master Data with a main responsibility in maintaining high‑quality Material Master Data in line with Wärtsilä’s data governance principles and legal requirements.
The location for this position is Gdansk, Poland. We offer a possibility to hybrid remote work.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Specialist, Material Master Data your work will include maintaining high‑quality Material Master Data in line with Wärtsilä’s data governance principles and legal requirements. The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of our skilful Material Master Data team with diverse expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Creating, updating, extending, blocking, unblocking, removing, and monitoring Material Master Data within Wärtsilä’s scope.
- Ensuring accurate and high‑quality master data in compliance with legal requirements and Wärtsilä guidelines, agreed work splits, and lead times.
- Supporting global audits by collecting and preparing Material Master Data‑related information, reports, and analyses.
- Ensuring implementation and validation of global Material Master Data processes and proactively identifying and addressing deviations.
- Participating in migrations, validating data, and onboarding new Wärtsilä entities into the Material Master Data scope.
- Cooperating and sharing knowledge with related end‑to‑end processes and global internal and external stakeholders.
- Supporting identification, evaluation, and implementation of innovative improvements to enhance data quality, harmonisation, and process performance.
- Maintaining and updating process documentation, including process flows, work splits, tasks, and guidelines.
- Providing guidance on SAP and other related systems, tools, and best practices for master data usage.
- Performing other Material Master Data‑related tasks as requested by the Head of CoE.
Requirements:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Economics, Industrial Management, Information Technology, or a related field is must
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Master Data or related roles is must
- Understanding of Material Master Data Management principles and processes.
- Experience with data governance and data quality management (considered an advantage).
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and material data‑related tools (advantage).
- A systematic, accurate, and organised way of working.
- A proactive, development‑oriented, and solution‑focused mindset.
- Strong collaboration and customer service skills.
- Problem‑solving capabilities and attention to detail.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work in a global environment.
- Fluency in English is must; other languages are considered a benefit.
