Workshop Turbocharger Engineer

We are looking for the Workshop Turbocharger Engineer.

Location for the position is Gdańsk. The position is permanent. 

What will you be doing?

As a Workshop Turbocharger Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • assist Manager/Foreman  to lead the workshop team and carry turbochargers overhaul and service in the TC workshop
  • ensure all necessary  work were done by good quality, all necessary paper works, documentation and service reports are in order
  • preparation skill and submit a spare  parts requisitions as required
  • maintain the quality & efficiency of mechanical work performed (as measured by warranty costs), & in accordance with manufacturers specifications & ISO procedures
  • use and  maintain shop and field tools in accordance with good mechanical-work practices
  • accurate & timely care of Wärtsilä specialty tools (field & shop) used to perform workshop work
  • ensure customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers
  • adherence  all Wartsila regulations, policies, work procedures & instructions and as well as Polish labuor law
  • adherence to all safety rules and  use of all appropriate safety equipment
  • other tasks ordered  by the Team Leader


You will shine in this role when you have:

  • university degree (Mechanical) or Technical school/ preferably Mechanical
  • good English written and verbal skills
  • fluent Polish
  • minimum 3 years of overhaul experience with medium/large bore diesel engines
  • experience in overhaul and knowledge of ABB or Napier or KBB turbochargers will be an advantage
  • able to read turbocharger diagrams and to operate on balancing machines
  • able to work as a team player
  • strong ability to plan and organize the work
  • being open to learning 
  • readiness to travel max 2-4 times 1-2 weeks per year
  • the candidate should be able to work under pressure as well as the flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed
