We are looking for a Workshop Turbocharger Engineer to join our team. 

The location for the position is Gdánsk. The position is permanent. 

 

 

What will you be doing?


As a Workshop Turbocharger Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Assisting the Manager/Foreman to lead the workshop team and carrying turbochargers overhaul and service in the TC workshop
  • Ensuring all necessary work is done in accordance with Wärtsilä quality, and that all necessary paper work, documentation, and service reports are in order
  • Preparation skill and submitting spare parts requisitions as required
  • Maintaining the quality & efficiency of mechanical work performed (as measured by warranty costs) & in accordance with manufacturers specifications & ISO procedures
  • Using and maintaining shop and field tools in accordance with good mechanical-work practices
  • Accurate & timely care of Wärtsilä specialty tools (field & shop) used to perform workshop tasks
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction with job performance & through positive interactions with customers
  • Adherence to Wärtsilä regulations, policies, work procedures & instructions, along with Polish labor law
  • Adherence to all safety rules and use of all appropriate safety equipment
  • Other tasks ordered by the Team Leader

 

 

You will shine in this role when you have:

 

  • M. Sc. or B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
  • Good English skills, both written and verbal 
  • Fluent Polish
  • Minimum 3 years of overhaul experience with medium/large bore diesel engines
  • Experience in overhaul and knowledge of ABB or Napier or KBB turbochargers will be an advantage
  • Able to read turbocharger diagrams and to operate on balancing machines
  • Able to work as a team player
  • Strong ability to plan and organize the work
  • Readiness to travel max 2-4 times/ 1-2 weeks per year
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as the flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed
