Design Engineer

We, as FGSS (Fuel Gas Supply Systems) Part of Power Supply,  Marine organization - want to transition the world toward a decarbonized and sustainable future. We are now looking for a Design Engineer. The position is located in Gdynia, Poland, with the possibility of hybrid work.

We seek individuals with a genuine interest in engineering, who are task and result-oriented, structured and systematic, and cooperative with a positive attitude towards new challenges.
 
In this position, your work will include:
 

  • 3D modelling and creating 2D technical drawings in Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Advance Steel, and Inventor.
  • Documentation production and its checking/approving (Bill of Materials, Standardizations, GA, etc.).
  • Participation in the complete documentation work flow.
  • Understanding and supporting the creation of design guidelines, both internal and international standards, and complying with the Contractual requirements.
  • Cooperation with project management and other disciplines (mechanical, E&I, process, etc.).
  • Participation in the development of more efficient engineering processes.
  • Contribute to efficient project execution to the right quality, cost, and time.
  • Coordinating project activities and supporting the team.
  • Being up to date with relevant codes, regulations and rules for safe and correct design of the LNG and future fuels piping installation (Ammonia, Methanol etc.).
  • Participation in the standardization and R&D design area.
  • Possible traveling: c.a 10% of work activities.
  • In the future - holding the role of Design Lead - responsible for project execution within the timeframe with the project team assigned.

 
You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independence, as you will have the support from entire FGSS Engineering Team.
 
You will shine in this role when you have:
 

  • Technical education (M.Sc. or B.Sc.)  - Ship Technology / Mechanical or similar.
  • Knowledge and understanding of marine classification societies, IGF, SGMF, etc.
  • Good English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of an international team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD / Plant 3D / Advance Steel / Inventor.
  • Experience with leading a project team in relation to meeting deadlines and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Experience with piping design and structural engineering.
  • Experience with Wärtsilä Engineering Tools is an advantage.
  • Experience with LNG /LPG / Methanol / Ammonia and/or Marine business is an advantage.

 
In this role, some travel is required to inspect what was designed by us. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
