Lifecycle Proposals Engineer

We seek an efficient lifecycle proposals engineer to join our multi-national team at Wärtsilä Gas Solutions. In this position, you will play an essential

role in our sales process, focusing on building up sales proposals for our clients for field service and other service products. You will be working across

our global installed base, including land-based biogas, marine cargo management systems, floating LNG terminals, control systems, and other products.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the offering process by effectively generating specific solutions that create added value propositions for the customer.
  • Manage opportunities in Salesforce.
  • Deliver high-quality and timely proposals while ensuring reliable margin definition across the whole offering process.
  • Identify new sales potentials through a proactive approach to increase the scope of regular proposals and to achieve sales growth and profitability.
  • Enable and maintain good communication with all internal stakeholders (field service team, technical services team, sales support team) to ensure the proposed solution is both technically and commercially sound and provides added value for the customer.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of our product portfolio and technical capabilities to effectively communicate and demonstrate value to customers.
  • Ensure the proper transfer of responsibility from sales to delivery occurs.
  • Address sales potentials promptly, ensuring quality leads are passed to the sales representatives.
  • Participate and co-lead customer meetings both technically and commercially.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • We are open for several types of candidates:
    • Proven experience in sales support within the marine or industrial field service industry, or
    • Relevant experience as field service or project engineer, or
    • Engineering graduates with a proven high capacity for learning.
  • Experience in successfully working with various stakeholders to deliver on customer expectations.
  • Good commercial understanding and capacity to transfer product technical features to commercially appealing proposals.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of margin and cost calculation/pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Good time management and organisation skills and effectively managing a dynamic workload.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the quotation process.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with customers. English proficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
