Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, a frontrunner in decarbonization technology and energy security is expanding rapidly—and we’re looking for a Sourcing & Tendering Manager to help shape the future of Supply Chain. As part of our dynamic, cross-functional team in Gdynia, Poland, you’ll step into a key International leadership role that combines strategic sourcing, vendor engagement, and tendering excellence to drive profitable growth and reliable project execution.


What You’ll Do
As a Sourcing & Tendering Manager, you’ll be involved in Gas Solutions supply chain strategy — leading initiatives that reduce costs and bring further supply reliability across the Gas Solutions business unit.

 

Your Core Responsibilities Will Include:

 

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of sourcing and tendering professionals.
  • Define clear goals, set priorities, and drive accountability aligned with Gas Solutions strategic objectives.
  • Foster professional growth through mentoring, coaching, and continuous skill development.
  • Serve as the go-to escalation point for strategic supply challenges and team development needs.

 

Strategic Sourcing

  • Oversee the creation and implementation of robust, long-term sourcing agreements with key suppliers.
  • Develop and manage vendor allocation strategies based on performance, pricing, capacity, and compliance.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with wider business goals.
  • Monitor and report sourcing KPIs, ensuring cost-efficiency, risk management, and product standardization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with critical suppliers.

 

Tender Management

  • Guide the team in evaluating supplier quotations and contribute to profitable Order Intake.
  • Ensure consistent tendering processes and knowledge transfer from one project to the next.
  • Establish world-class tendering KPIs and ensure the use of valid, competitive pricing data.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Purchasing Manager to optimize cost control and timelines during tender evaluations.


Supplier & Process Standardization

  •  Lead the global standardization of supplier agreements to secure pricing stability and volume leverage.
  • Align sourcing practices with product development and technical teams for greater efficiency and predictability.
  • Champion continuous improvement in supplier frameworks.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in strategic supply chain management—ideally in industrial, maritime, or energy sectors.
  • Strong team leadership and supplier management capabilities.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with global supplier markets and contract negotiations.
  • Fluent in English
