We are now looking for a Service Engineer to join our Field Service resources Mediterranean region.

The position is permanent. The preferred location for the position is in Genova, Italy.


What will you be doing


As Service Engineer 4 stroke, your work will focus on these responsibilities:


  • Execute planned maintenances and repairing jobs on Wärtsilä OEM engines and it’s auxiliaries
  • Overhaul engine components at site/on board
  • Carry out engine product trouble shooting, routine maintenance & components investigation
  • Check and adjust relevant systems (i.e., auxiliary,)
  • Perform commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment
  • Take a part in trouble shooting process
  • Carry out engine product troubleshooting, routine maintenance & components investigation
  • Prepare service work reports and travel expense reports on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality
  • Identify failures, making adjustments, assist on trial runs and testing
  • Collect and organize time and expense reports. Reporting and informing administrative personnel as required
  • Working by following the Company guidelines including QEHS requirements


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:


  • Good knowledge of English and Italian
  • Communication skills & customer relations
  • Strong motivation to learn and grow professionally
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Cultural knowledge and bridging the gaps between different cultures
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Collaborative team player
  • Motivation to travel to our customers for at least 80% per year and abroad if required.
