We are looking for a Service Engineer to be part of our local Site Manager team in Genova Sestri shipyard, Italy.

 

Wartsila APSS, part of Voyage NACOS Core and mainly in charge of the Italian Cruise Market, is now looking for 1 experienced Service Engineer with high technical attitude, to join our Site Manager Team and establish a strong relation with our colleagues part of the team. The person will report to the Local Site Manager.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

In this position, your work will include performing commissioning activities according to the work plan. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support from our Site Managers and colleagues part of the Site Management Dept.

 

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have understanding in automation systems and experience of a minimum 2 years on board cruise & merchant vessels.

 

As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience on XD/DNA - Platinum Equipment system and knowledge of basic naval instruments.

 

As Service Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • perform basic troubleshooting (running tests, fine tuning, adjustments) on equipment families
  • may independently perform major/complex repairs and complete overhauls: may perform installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities
  • may perform commissioning activities and handing the equipment over to the customer and/or shipyard
  • interact with customers during the work execution
  • perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work
  • create the service reports
  • ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 50%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
