Workshop Trainee

Workshop Trainee

 

 

We are looking for a Workshop Trainee with a main responsibility in overhauling and machining engine components. The location for this position is in Genoa. In this position, remote working is not an option. 
 

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Workshop Trainee your work will include those activities and operations, according a training plan to be agreed upon own background and expectations, developing the capability of component overhauling and machining, fulfilling QHSE and technical / quality requirements as per Wartsila standards.
Furthermore, professionality, openness, transparency, communication skills have to be demonstrated, being also available for flexible working either in the workshop or on field, as part of training on job approach. The tasks can also be adjusted along the period based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of the team of the workshop with diverse expertise.  

 

Requirements for the position 

  • You should be capable to read and understand assembly and manufacturing drawings and technical instructions.
  • You should demonstrate mechanical metrology skills (gauge, bore gauge, depth gauge, reference rule).
  • You should have, at least, basic knowledge of mechanical machining, better if supported by experience (eg. stages, working periods).
  • Flexibility to work on shift and within a dynamic environment on multiple disciplines.
  • English reading, writing, and speaking is a must.

As an ideal candidate you might also have… 

  • Knowledge of basic non-destructive test methodology (eg. dye penetrant, etc).
  • Knowledge Numeric Control principles, parameters and 3D references use and application.
  • Quality control principles and methodologies skills.
  • Problem solving attitude.
  • Respectful and constructive approach towards own time and responsibilities management.
