Plant Technician

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor degree or similar in Mechanical engineer or Technician degree from a Technical Institution
  • 2 to 5 years of experience as a Technician in an Industrial settings.
  • Be able to work on rotating shifts

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Operates the plant according to company policies, procedures and operation profile/plan, executing operational tasks following established procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. Assists in start-up, shut-down and normal operations of the power plant systems. Optimizes and adjusts processes, flows, settings and other customer plant performance related features based on guidance from technicians and supervisors.
  • Maintains tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and available for use. Utilizes all tools, equipment, and accessories in such a manner so as to maximize useful operating life.
  • Monitors and reports on the status of tasks and activities, ensuring timely completion. Completes and maintains all logs and running records clearly and concisely according to the stipulated guidelines.
  • Identifies and resolves routine problems within the scope of work, escalating complex issues to higher levels. Takes corrective action during system operational disturbances. Performs emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety deficiencies.
  • Supports continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to current work methods and participating in implementing new practices.
  • Assists in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by ensuring adherence to guidelines and processes. Responsible for always maintaining the plant in a clean and safe condition.
  • Collaborates with team members and provides assistance to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities
