Our Field Service engineers and superintendents are regularly assigned to customer installations for complex equipment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
We are now looking for a Regional Operations Coordinator, Caribbean to join our Regional Operations North team, working for a better future.
What You Will Be Doing?
In this role, you will act as a key operational coordinator responsible for planning, leading, and executing complex Field Service activities across the Caribbean region. You will work closely with Account Managers, Sales Support, customers, and Field Service personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality service delivery.
The position plays a critical role in coordinating people, spare parts, schedules, and costs for Field Service jobs, ensuring compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards while maintaining strong customer relationships. Through effective planning, communication, and execution, you will directly contribute to customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Work as one team with Account Managers and Sales Support to develop and support sales proposals.
- Lead and coordinate complex Field Service activities, including personnel, spare parts, schedules, costs, and timelines.
- Support Field Service engineers and superintendents before, during, and after job execution.
- Act as the main contact person for customers during Field Service jobs.
- Communicate effectively with customers, Field Service personnel, and internal stakeholders throughout job execution.
- Manage and coordinate change orders to job scope, including financial impact assessment.
- Ensure full compliance with Safety, Quality, and ISO processes for personnel, tools, and equipment.
- Suggest and support investments in tools and resources to improve Field Service performance.
- Coordinate resources to ensure the right competencies are assigned to each job.
- Manage all Field Service jobs administratively in SAP.
- Lead briefing and debriefing sessions with Field Service engineers.
- Prepare lessons learned, execute improvement actions, and share outcomes with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
- Follow up on service work orders until invoicing, including documentation, time sheets, travel expenses, vendor invoices, and change orders.
- Support the development and implementation of Field Service processes and ways of working.

- Solid understanding of financial fundamentals such as cost, margin, revenue, and rework.
- Motivation to learn, grow, and continuously improve.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written). Spanish and/or French is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within the North Region (USA/Canada and Caribbean).
Knowledge in:
- Field Service processes, including commissioning, warranty, sales support, training, and customer follow‑up.
- Project planning tools and scheduling methodologies, including complex Gantt charts.
- SAP for Field Service job administration.
- Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, MS Project).
- Ability to read and understand basic electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Reciprocating engine technologies (diesel, natural gas, dual fuel) and their auxiliaries.

The position is permanent, with the preferred location to be Guyana
The role supports Field Service operations across the Caribbean region and requires 20% travel.
