Internal Communications Lead

We are looking to hire a seasoned 
Internal Communications Lead to collaborate with the Voyage HR team and take ownership of creating a variety of Internal MarComms collateral.

 

The location for this position is Hamburg, Germany.

 

Purpose of the role:

Working in close collaboration with the Voyage HR team, the Internal Communications Lead will be setting out comms strategies to ensure the entire Voyage business experiences a world class comms experience. The purpose of the role will be also to work in partnership with the Voyage leadership team, digesting key business information and using their marketing, communication creative flare release the information to our people in a way in which can be captivated by all.

  

In this role, you will:  

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategy helping to engage and empower our employees.  
  • Proactively engage and contribute to development and implementation of the communication plan / activities.  
  • Lead strategy communications: ensure our internal messaging making clear links to strategy and discussing the strategy from multiple angles 
  • Advise and coach leaders: when, what, how and why to communicate, challenge and offer viewpoints. Offer leaders insights into what their message will sound like to others and what sort of messages are needed right now.  
  • Lead, plan and arrange Senior Leaders and Employee townhalls with relevant, engaging content. Try out different styles and fine-tune according to employee feedback. Internal events are as (or more) important than external events, and we need to place them top on our priority list! 
  • Act as a sparring partner to the EVP of Business and the business management team on internal communication.  
  • Coach internal audiences in effective communications ie. senior leaders, spoke persons, thought leaders and talents 
  • Leads change communication projects based on principles outlined above 

 

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Partnering with business management to enable effective communication across the organisation.  
  • Support the respective business in driving annual communications agenda, for example: Marine Voyage info sessions, Senior Leader community.   
  • Lead on developing a narrative for the business and ensuring this is reflected in group wise communication. 
  • Provide support on thought leadership initiatives, idly speech writing 
  • Actively engaging in the culture and engagement development via building open and transparent culture.  
  • Develop creative & emotionally engaging stories & messaging for all our channels to inspire & captivate audiences  

 

 

Success in this role:

Your success will be measured against Employee satisfaction, contribution to strategy implementation and change project completion - and ultimately financial business performance.  

 

Requirements:  

As an ideal candidate for this position you will have University degree, Marketing or Communications, supported by extensive work experience in internal communication role. Experience from working in an international and global environment as well as substantial experience working with business management team will be beneficial for you to succeed in this position. Previous Internal Comms in a Tech/agile/disruptive environment will be a strong advantage.

 

In addition, an ideal candidate:  

  • Has ability to coach senior leaders and support in effective communication.
  • Extensive copywriting experience will be essential.
  • Generates inspiration and has a positive can-do attitude, solution orientation and customer service mind-set. 
  • Attracts a genuine attention from people and creates interest in our people about what he/she has to share
  • A strong, positive energy which will enable them to excite and engage people.
  • Is interested in future marketing communication trends and has in depth understanding of digital communication tools and technologies. 
  • drives results with excellent planning and execution skills: coaching, facilitation, change leadership and project management.
  • Enjoys creating clear business value with a goal-oriented mind-set. 
  • Initiator/self-starter: Identifies internal comms needs, addresses these and proactively comes with very relevant proposals of how to solve these  
  • Ability to inspire senior stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Has very strong English language skills and great facilitation skills.
