Technical Manager






We are looking for a

Technical Manager (m/f/d)


Head of a small team responsible for our complete fresh water product portfolio including R&D, engineering and documentation.


In this role, your main responsibilities include:

  • Pull together all the elements that are required to create and manage a world class technical function within the business
  • Lead and develop a small team (functional and disciplinary)
  • Provide product/business support, prioritization and guidance to Functions to achieve Profit and Loss targets
  • Take accountability for the engineering functions including R&D and documentation
  • Ensure compliance of all technical activities with the Quality Management system and ISO9001
  • Establish appropriate planning measures to ensure timely supply of all technical information and drawings
  • Develop and execute an effective strategy for product development. Take full charge and accountability for the new and improved product introduction through a robust R&D procedure
  • Significantly reduce the time taken to bring new products and design changes to market
  • Contribute to sales and product strategy based on thorough understanding of the product area and the needs of the market
  • Develop and implement a plan with clear short, medium and long term objectives. Drive corrective actions to responsible functions to improve overall product quality (e.g. Documentation, processes, data, etc.)
  • Fulfil a customer facing role when required, with the ability to talk knowledgeably about the company’s products and capabilities. Support the sales team through regular liaison with customer’s technical experts


As an ideal candidate you will have the following abilities:


  • Experience with pressure equipment directive and manufacture of apparatus
  • Proven experience in a team management role for minimum 2 years. Ability to manage resources, coach and develop a team with good interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • A strong commercial perspective, an ability to see opportunities in the market and ensure that product development capitalises on such opportunities.
  • To seek opportunity for and author/deliver technical papers, patents, etc.
  • Good understanding of the business environment and customer base
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English – both written and oral
  • A desire to “make things happen”


Education: Master of mechanical engineering (TU or FH) or similar


Location: Geesthacht
