Software Development Engineer Navigation (m/f/d)

Our business unit Navigation, Communication & Smart Sensors is looking for a self-driven and agile Software Development Engineer for Navigation Systems. The position is located at Wärtsilä SAM in Hamburg, Germany.


Your main tasks and responsibilities:


• Development of software applications for navigation and automation applications as part of an agile development team
• Providing relevant documentation
• Implement automated tests and execute manual tests
• Permanent qualification/training on new methods, tools, design- and architecture patterns


Our expectations:


* B.Sc./M.Sc. in a software related area (e.g. Technical or Applied Computer Science) or similar

* Expertise in writing maintainable and testable code in C#/.NET (Visual Studio) within the Microsoft Windows ecosystem

* Knowledge about usual design- and architecture pattern

* Very good verbal and written communication skills (German and English)

* Knowledge of agile development practices

* Willingness to travel, occasionally, worldwide, to test sites or on vessels for sea trials

* Good collaborations skills as well as a can-do attitude


It's a plus if you have experience in:


* WPF, Azure DevOps, PowerShell, Web Services, Database Systems (SQL/NoSQL), UNIX, C++

* Navigation or maritime applications area
