We are now looking for a
Director Accounting & Group Consolidation (m/f/d)
to join our team working for a better future.
The preferred location for the position is in Hørsholm (Denmark), but also Hamburg (Germany) is a possible location.
What you will be doing
As Director Accounting & Group Consolidation your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team across all group entities and outsourcing partner to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies, processes, and controls across all group companies.
- Financial Operations and Processes
- Oversee and optimize finance processes, including R2R, P2P, and O2C, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with the treasury team to manage payment processes and optimize cash flow.
- Coordinate with the controlling organization to ensure the accuracy and quality of financial data with regard to input to accruals, provisions and revenue recognition.
- Ensure the integrity of the ERP system and work to continuously improve its utilization for finance processes and segregation of duties.
- Outsourced Services Management
- Manage the relationship with the third-party service provider responsible for standardized tasks such as supplier invoices, routine bookings, and reconciliations.
- Monitor and ensure the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of services provided by the external partner.
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to maintain service levels and compliance.
- Financial Reporting and Closings
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings for all group entities including consolidation of P&L and balance sheets at group level.
- Collaborate with the controlling organization to ensure the accuracy and quality of financial data. The controlling organization will be responsible for detailed and granular management reporting across profit centers and business dimensions.
- Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
- Tax Compliance and Strategy
- Oversee all tax-related matters, including corporate tax, transfer pricing, VAT, and other indirect taxes, with the support of external advisors when required.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations in all jurisdictions where the group operates.
- Provide strategic input on tax optimization opportunities while maintaining compliance.
- Internal Controls and Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Support audits (internal and external) and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between the accounting team and the controlling organization to ensure alignment and information accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations and sales, to improve finance-related processes.
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent qualification preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in managing accounting functions in an international and multi-entity organization.
- Experience of group consolidation and preparation of consolidated accounts.
- Strong expertise in R2R, P2P, and O2C processes.
- Experience with managing outsourced financial services and service providers.
- Familiarity with tax compliance and managing external advisors.
- Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with MS Dynamics F&O is a strong advantage.
- Deep understanding of IFRS and knowledgeable in international tax regulations, including transfer pricing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
