Software Engineer
We are now looking for a SOFTWARE ENGINEER to join our ANCS (AUTOMATION, NAVIGATION & CONTROL SYSTEMS) team.
The location for these positions is preferably in Horsholm, Denmark.

ANCS, which stands for Automation, Navigation & Control Systems, is a division within Wärtsilä that transforms vessel journeys through the use of innovative hardware and software technologies. Our primary focus is on enhancing safety, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance. With a strong legacy of pioneering advancements in maritime technology, our comprehensive range of solutions includes user-friendly integrated navigation and automation systems, sensors that enhance safety measures, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems.
What will you be doing?
We offer you a chance to develop and improve our widely recognized NACOS Platinum Automation products which are used on thousands of cruise, commercial and navy vessels for delivering control, monitoring and alarms for ship systems. The NACOS system, consisting of hardware modules, network equipment and application software, is developed, and maintained by the R&D team, which you will become a part of.
Responsibilities
You will be part of a team of software developers who develop embedded and PC application software. You will participate in both new development and maintenance of a wide range of ANCS / Lyngsø Marine products. You will participate in the entire development process from idea phase to operation and service phase.
Tasks
· Development and maintenance of PC Windows IoT based run-time software and tools
· Unit- and integration testing and troubleshooting
· Cooperation with other departments both inside and outside the house.
Must have
· Experience with Windows and C++ / C# / .NET development
· Experience of creating applications and services for Microsoft Windows OS
· A good understanding of how software interacts with the Microsoft Windows OS
· Experience with using Visual Studio and GIT
· Experience with Ethernet based network protocols.
Additional but not required skills
· Experience with Windows Foundation Classes (WFC)
· Some understanding of ship systems or industrial control systems
· Experience with cyber security principles and secure development
· Experience with working in a Scrum/Agile setup
· Experience with databases will be considered a plus.
Professional qualifications
· Engineering education at master’s level in Applied Engineering Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or similar
· 5-10 years of experience in software development
· High-level written and spoken English as you'll be working with a wide group of international colleagues.
