We are looking for a Service Engineer E&A to join our Electrical & Automation Fields Services Resources team and enhance our after-sales support staff. 

 

The preferred location for this position is in Harfleur, France

 

Your role and responsibilities 

 

As a Service Engineer E&A your work will include the following tasks:

 

  • Fieldwork on electrical and automation systems (commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting).
  • Analysis and resolution of complex failures.
  • Team coordination and communication with clients.
  • Compliance with QHSE regulations.
  • Preparation of technical and travel reports in English.
  • Site audits, commercial support, and promotion of Wärtsilä solutions.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice for up to 60% of the time.

 

The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You'll be working as a part of a team with diverse expertise.

 

Requirements for the position 

 

  • A BS degree in marine engineering, electrical, or electronic, or a degree from ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime), is nice to have but not strictly necessary. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong background in automation and electrotechnology. While an engineering degree is not mandatory, practical experience and expertise in these areas are highly valued and considered essential for success in this position.
  • Technical knowledge in electrical and automation systems, communication networks and interfaces, sensors, actuators, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience in automation or as an engine room marine engineer would be a plus.
  • Skills in PLC programming, SCADA systems, diesel engines, hybrid systems, and variable speed drives.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems, automation, and IT tools (MS Office).
  • Availability to travel 60% of the time, including internationally and onboard vessels.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
  • Valid category B driving license is required.
  • Strong communication skills, a teamwork-oriented mindset, and motivation to learn and grow.

En tant que Technicien Supérieur Électrotechnique et Automatisme (H/F), vos missions incluront les tâches suivantes :

 

  • Interventions terrain sur systèmes électriques et d’automatisation (mise en service, maintenance, dépannage).
  • Analyse et résolution de pannes complexes.
  • Coordination des équipes et communication avec les clients.
  • Respect des règles QHSE.
  • Rédaction de rapports techniques et de voyage en anglais.
  • Audits de site, support commercial, promotion des solutions Wärtsilä.
  • Être prêt à voyager à court préavis pour le 60 % du temps.

 

Les tâches peuvent également être ajustées en fonction de vos compétences et intérêts individuels. Vous travaillerez au sein d'une équipe aux expertises variées.

 

Exigences pour le poste

 

  • Un diplôme de niveau licence (BS) en génie maritime, électrique ou électronique, ou un diplôme de l'ENSM (École Nationale Supérieure Maritime), est souhaité mais pas obligatoire. Le candidat idéal pour ce poste doit avoir une solide expérience en automatisation et en électrotechnique. Bien qu'un diplôme d'ingénieur ne soit pas obligatoire, une expérience pratique et une expertise dans ces domaines sont fortement valorisées et considérées comme essentielles pour réussir dans ce poste.
  • Connaissances techniques dans les systèmes électriques et d'automatisation, les réseaux de communication et interfaces, les capteurs, les actionneurs et les équipements auxiliaires
  • Expérience en automatisme ou en tant que marin en salle des machines serait un plus.
  • Compétences en programmation d’automates (PLC), systèmes SCADA, moteurs diesel, systèmes hybrides, variateurs de vitesse.
  • Maîtrise des systèmes électriques, automatisation, outils informatiques (MS Office).
  • Disponibilité pour voyager 60 % du temps, y compris à l’étranger et à bord de navires.
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais oral et écrit.
  • Permis B requis.
  • Bonnes compétences en communication, esprit d’équipe, motivation pour apprendre et évoluer.
