Within Ship Electrification Solutions (SES) we are a world leading total supplier of electric and hybrid solutions for the marine industry. Our products range from Shaft Generators, Electric Propulsion Systems to Hybrid Solutions and shore power. We are planning to strengthen our energetic, ambitious, and enthusiastic team with a Commissioning & Service Engineer with knowledge to electrical power systems.

 

As a Commissioning & Service Engineer (m/f/d) Ship Electrification,  you will deliver a variety of highly innovative integrated electrical system projects and service jobs, including battery hybrid and full electric solutions to both newbuild ships and as retrofit .

 

This is a permanent position for the SES team in Stord, Norway or Hamburg, Germany.

 

As Commissioning & Service Engineer your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Commissioning, repair and warranty works in the areas of electrical power generation, power distribution & electrical shore connection systems
  • System testing and analysis on equipment and systems on site
  • Testing and acceptance of installation as well as the necessary adjustments
  • Supervision of sea trials, training of ship's crews
  • Presentation and hand over of equipment's systems to the ship owner, shipyard and the classification societies
  • Preparation of service/installation reports as well as feedback on technical content/changes to involved departments
  • Support and guidance of remote commissioning for other departments of the group

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • A Masters or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (Electrical Engineering or Ships Operational Technology), or equivalent
  • Professional experience, especially in the fields of power generations plants, control and converter technology, medium-voltage systems appreciated
  • Knowledge in the field of customer service and ship operation appreciated
  • SPS skills are desirable
  • Structured and practical way of working with hands-on attitude
  • English language (written and spoken)
  • Willingness to travel frequently around the world
