Development Engineer

We are now looking for a 

 

Development Engineer (m/f/d) 

 

to join our skilled team. The position is permanent and the preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany.
 

What will you be doing?


As a Development Engineer, you will work as a technical expert for the EPMS (Electrical and Power Management Systems) team in Hamburg. You will explore and develop technical solutions, best practices, participate in project pre-phase and execution.  

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilties:
 

  • Developing knowledge of our existing technologies
  • Design of drive concepts and their simulation
  • Writing application software for PLC and visualisations
  • Finding optimization potential for increased reliability and quality
  • Defining modularizable building bricks for our hybrid systems
  • Aligning with classification societies to meet the applicable rules and regulations
  • Support during commissioning and service calls
  • Technical support for sales in the design of diesel-electric propulsion and shaft generator systems

 
You should have a working knowledge of: 

 

  • Electrical machines
  • Controlers
  • Transformers
  • Frequency converters
  • Battery systems
  • Programming of PLC

 
The below will enable you to shine in this role:

 

  • Degree qualified in Power Systems, or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering
  • Knowledge in the development and simulation of drive systems
  • Appreciation of the value of teamwork, thriving in both an individual and a team environment
  • Knowledge of relevant classification or IEC rules
