Development Engineer

We are looking to recruit a Development Engineer for our Technology & Design department in the Power Conversion business unit.

 

As a successful Development Engineer you ensure the development of hardware and software components for energy and drive technology systems in line with costs, deadlines and customers' requirements.

 

We are looking for an energetic, ambitious and enthusiastic Development Engineer to join the team in our Wärtsilä SAM Electronics office in Hamburg

 

Your responsibilites are:

 

  • Calculation, layout and simulation of electrical drives
  • Investigation of stability and voltage quality of electrical ship power supply on board of ships
  • Integration of converter technology in ship building applications
  • Technical support of sales department for propulsion and shaft generators
  • Automation and visualisation of PLC controls

 

Requirements:

 

  • Preferably you hold a Masters or Bachelors degree in a relevant area (electrical engineering / power engineering / drive technology / control engineering), or equivalent
  • More than 3 years experience in a comparable role
  • Excellent knowledge about electrical machines and power electronics
  • Programmer knowledge for PLC control (Delphi, HMI software)
  • Good knowledge about control engineering
  • Good English knowledge in reading and writing
