We are now looking for a
Field Service Engineer (m/f/d)
to join our team. In this position you will be performing optimal service by carrying out maintenance and repair work at all kinds of equipment at the vessels of our marine customers or power-plants. As a Hands On technical driven team-player, you will be challenged with commissioning projects as well as trouble shooting problems on board of our client’s vessels. For this position you must be willing to travel extensively (worldwide) and stay abroad.
As Field Service Engineer your work will focus, but are not limited to, these responsibilities:
- May lead and manage assigned team and related activities during the work execution.
- Interact with customers during the work execution (e.g.conducting introduction meeting).
- Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
- Independently or together with colleagues you execute, service activities, repairs for Wartsila products (4-Stroke, 2-Stroke, Propulsion, Insitu machining, Turbochargers, Automation) aboard vessels or land-based power plants.
- Execution of the above in line with organization processes and practice to achieve the desired time, cost and quality outcomes.
- You know how to represent Wartsila towards our customers and the marine industry to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.
- You provide feedback to earlier project execution phases - sales, design, engineering, purchasing and installation when needed.
- Increasing spare part sales through customer interaction and accurate record-keeping in the field Maintain and promote Wärtsilä's high safety standards.
The below will enable you to shine in this role:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Mechatronics combined with some hands-on experience working with DF Engines or other Mechanical Equipment.
- Willing to gain experience, travel the world and contribute a positive mindset within our team. Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and German is required. Dutch or Polish is an advantage.
- Service and team minded, structured, good attention to detail and self-motivating.
- Familiar with WECS, UNIC C1 C2 and C3, LCS, UCS and other control & automation systems.
