Within Ship Electrification Solutions (SES) we are supplying vessels with electrical power systems. Our products range from Shaft Generators, Electric Propulsion Systems to Hybrid Solutions and Shore Power. We are planning to strengthen our energetic, ambitious, and enthusiastic team with a project engineer with knowledge to the marine industry as well as to electrical power systems.
As a
Project Engineer Electric Propulsion System (m/f/d)
you will work in a permanent position as a technical resource for the SES team in Germany, Hamburg Behringstrasse.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for technical clarifications during project stage, working on solutions, continuous improvement and problem solving - and will be rising the quality of our products fromproject to project.
As a Project Engineer you will provide technical knowledge and understanding to perform engineering on:
- Generators
- Switchboards
- Transformers
- Frequency converters
- Electrical motors
- Battery systems
- Integrating and interfacing the power components into a system
- Communication among others to Sales, Project Management, Customer
You will be responsible for:
- Product-relevant project management according to existing specifications
- Development and implementation of project-specific technical solutions
- Customer / supplier contact
- Preparation of technical specifications for suppliers
- Creation of documents (e.g. approval drawings, installation and planning instructions, final documentation)
- Assignment and coordination of, among others, development (software clarification), design (drawing creation), purchasing, shipping, commissioning
- Participation in FAT (internal and at suppliers) with class and customer
- Accompaniment of the commissioning if necessary on site and abroad, participation in SAT
- Technical support in case of warranty claims
To be successful in this role we expect you to have:
- Preferably a Master or Bachelor degree in a relevant area (electrical engineering)
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, but also newcomers or young professionals are welcome
- System knowledge, especially of the main components described above
- Structured and practical way of working with hands-on attitude
- Good skills in MS office tools and preferably also SAP
- Fluent German and English language skills
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers and supplieres. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
