Wärtsilä SAM Electronics is looking for a 

 

Project Purchaser (m/f/d)

 

to strengthen the Procurement team. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany.

 

What you will be doing 

 

As a Project Purchaser your workdays mainly consist of contacting internal and external stakeholders, as well as following up and securing correct purchasing activities.

 

As Project Purchaser, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Execute purchase orders, order monitoring, confirmations, rescheduling and processing of non-conformities. 
  • Actively develop the way of working in cooperation with process develop-ment.
  • Monitor and report supplier performance.
  • Maintain master data in relevant systems in defined area of responsibility.
  • Active involvement in supplier selection process for responsible projects.
  • Support or lead project related supplier negotiations in collaboration with the strategic purchaser.
  • Creating and maintaining needed information in SAP.
  • Actively develop teamwork in own team and build commitment.
  • Close cooperation with internal and/or external stakeholders.
     

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • Commercial or technical education (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) 
  • 2-3 years of experience in purchasing of large systems and/or solutions.
  • Experience in contract and price negotiations.
  • Background in material planning is an advantage.
  • Technical background in electrical and/or automation is a benefit, but not a demand.
  • Active approach to work.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Target and result oriented attitude.
  • Service mind set, openness and flexibility, as well as the ability to make things happen.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • MS Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Excellent, proven team working skills in a self-steering team.
  • Good written and spoken German and English skills.
  • SAP knowledge is seen as a benefit.

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our supplieres. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
