QEHS Manager (m/w/d)

Are you passionate about driving safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement? Join us as a Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QESH) Manager (m/w/d), where you’ll play a pivotal role in creating a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment within our German legal entity.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our QHSE strategy—ensuring compliance, championing best practices, and embedding a culture where safety and continuous improvement thrive.
This position is offered on a permanent basis and is located in Hamburg, Germany.
Your work will focus, but are not limited to, these responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with QEHS regulations and standards
• Maintain a local legal register and ensure the organization complies with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct safety walks and inspection walks as well as all internal audits.
• Organise and conduct emergency and evacuation drills.
• Manage first aid cases and ensure the availability of first aiders, fire wardens, and safety wardens.
• Liaise with the fire fighters department and other emergency services.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Conduct internal QEHS trainings for employees and managers.
• Ensure AQAP (Allied Quality Assurance Publications) compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to QEHS activities
• Manage hazardous substances and ensure proper handling and storage.
• Manage sustainability reporting and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
• Conduct inductions, organise medical examinations, and other necessary training for hosted employees.
• Update and maintain the QEHS webpage with relevant information and resources.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety within the organisation.
• Implement local corrective actions for the legal entity.
• Manage and report on near misses and Lost Time Injuries (LTI).
To be successful in this role you will bring:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QHSE management role Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management).
• Strong knowledge QEHS German legal regulations and standards.
• Relevant certifications (NEBOSH, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)
• Proven capability in root cause analysis and incident investigation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Ability to convey safety guidelines clearly and practically.
• Experience with QEHS management software and tools (e.g., ODIN, ZED).
• Familiarity with Secova and other QEHS -related systems.
• Fluent in English and very good German language skills (min. level C1)
In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
