Senior Project Manager (m/f/d)

 

to join our team working for a better future. 

 

The preferred location for the position is in Hamburg, Germany. 

 

What you will be doing 

 

You as the Senior Project Manager are responsible for the coordination and management of complex shipbuilding electrical integration projects with a typical runtime of 3-5 years. You will oversee all aspects of electrical integration, ensuring seamless coordination between various stakeholders and adherence to project timelines and budgetary constraints.

 

As Senior Project Manager your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Manage all phases of electrical integration projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing. 
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure alignment with client requirements and company objectives. 
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
  • Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and materials sourcing, to support project requirements. 
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle. 
  • Prepare and present project status reports, financial forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.

 

For your new role as Senior Project Manager you bring the following experience and skills in addition to a Master´s degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or related field

 

  • Proven track record of at least 8 years in project management, with a focus on electrical integration for ship newbuilds or similar complex engineering projects 
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Waterfall) and proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) 
  • Project Management Certification (IPMA-B, PMI, Prince) or comparable longstanding experience 
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple topics simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Willingness to undergo a security check (also including your life partner, if applicable) as defined by the Security Check Act for military projects 
  • Willingness to travel for assignments at the customer or changing project locations 
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken (both at least C1)
